About the Sustainer’s Circle

The Sustainers’ Circle for Children is our monthly giving program. Currently, the Sustainers’ Circle is a small group of dedicated supporters, each of whom gives a personalized gift amount that works for them. We invite you to become a part of this circle by setting up a monthly donation today.

If you’ve donated year after year, you know how it feels to be a part of this community. You may even remember a time when you’d look forward to our annual holiday appeal in your mailbox. We have added a spring appeal due to our expanding community services and rising costs, and sustained giving helps make sure we have the resources we need spread throughout the year.

Sustained giving also benefits our collective environmental footprint. With each community member who joins the Sustainers’ Circle, we send two fewer paper appeals and cut out the emissions of delivering mail. We’ll still send you a paper thank you note once a year to express our gratitude and provide documentation for your annual giving records. We can do this electronically if you prefer.

Monthly giving also saves us money on overhead costs. This enables us to direct more of your gift towards delivering services and support to children and families. Our dedicated development staff spend time curating the mailing list and addressing envelopes for each appeal which consists of past donors and prospective supporters, even when we know you’ve given reliably every year. Imagine if your gift came in on time, every time, without any time spent on outreach. You’d still be able to contact us to manage your gift and we’d be happy to help you promptly.

After setting up a monthly gift, you will receive:

  • A sticker to proudly display your membership on your water bottle, laptop, or car
  • One complimentary refreshment (drink, dinner, snack) at each Winston Prouty fundraiser
  • The option to be named as a member of the Sustainers’ Circle on our website

How to Join

The best way to join the Sustainer’s Circle for Children is by ACH payment from your checking account. Credit card payment processing takes a percentage of each donation in fees. It’s also more convenient for you, so your membership isn’t interrupted if you ever change cards, lose a card, or your card expires. However, if you prefer card payment, we encourage you to add 3% to your desired monthly gift to cover fees. Otherwise, for example, we only see $9.31 of a $10 gift or $68.12 of a $70 gift. This really adds up over time!

Here are some entry points for deciding how much to give each month:

  • Consider spreading out your $100 annual gift and give $8.50/month.
  • If you often give around $250 annually, consider switching to $20/month.
  • $15/month is less than a Netflix subscription and buys enough gas for the Bookmobile to visit ten nearby child care programs.  
  • $30/month is like giving a dollar a day!
  • $50/month is less than many home internet plans and covers the cost of a pregnancy support group hosted by one of our nurses.
  • $100/month provides healthy morning and afternoon snacks for our two toddler classrooms
