Day of Play

We had so much fun on Saturday at the Early Childhood Day of Play! Did you? This year’s event was extra special as we welcomed 10 visiting organizations to present activities and resources.

Saturday, June 27th, 10:00am – 12:00pm, Winston Prouty Campus

The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development welcomes families back to the annual Early Childhood Day of Play on Saturday, June 27 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on the center’s scenic campus, rain or shine. The Day of Play is a free community event geared towards children aged 0-5 and their caregivers, offering a morning packed with engaging activities designed for joyful discovery.

Activities offered include water play, fairy-house building, sensory exploration with playdough, gross motor games, dramatic play, and finger painting. The Prouty Center has also partnered with special visitors to present additional interactive stations including a visiting face painter, story time with the Brooks Memorial Library, Zumbini with Meghan Ohrstrom, cardboard crafts with Corrugated Universe, and food art activities with the Brattleboro Food Co-op.

Free snacks and refreshments will be available including fresh-popped popcorn, fruits, and vegetables. In addition to playtime, parents and caregivers will have the opportunity to connect with Winston Prouty’s early childhood specialists about resources available.

For the first time, the event will highlight community partnerships as other organizations will set up tables to share information relevant to local families, including Early Education Services, Brattleboro Littles Alliance, Dad Guild, and others.
