Beyond Bossing, Begging and Bribing workshop for parents & providers

Have you ever heard someone say “What part of no don’t you understand?” or “Because I said so, that’s why!” Or maybe you have thought there has to be a better way to get children to listen and respond to our directions. This session explores the choices we have to parent, teach and discipline children. When you leave this session, you will have a deeper understanding of the strategies that balance structure and support in a child’s life.

Help Me Grow and Windham Early Childhood Educators Co-op will present, “Beyond Bossing, Begging and Bribing,” on Monday, Dec. 10th from 6:30p.m. – 8:30p.m. at the Brattleboro Retreat Education Conference room.

Parenting expert and author Jeanine K. Fitzgerald will lead this talk for parents and educators about communicating more effectively with children. “Beyond Bossing, Begging, and Bribing” will give specific strategies for improving everyday dialogue. Fitzgerald’s approach empowers parents and educators to achieve more with their children to set the stage for improved communication. 

Fitzgerald is the owner of the Better Behavior Bureau and author of “The Dance of Interaction: A Guide to Managing Children’s Challenging Behaviors.” With over 30 years of professional experience, Fitzgerald is known for her engaging and humorous presentations and has lectured across the country and at colleges including Harvard University, Bryant University and the University of Rhode Island.
