Our Campus

The Winston Prouty Center for Child and Family Development purchased the 184-acre campus in 2016. The campus was originally operated by the Austine School for Deaf and Hard of Hearing for nearly a century. In recent years, as deaf and hard-of hearing students were given the opportunity to become part of the mainstream school system, the need for the specialized center went away and the school closed.

The campus includes three large buildings, two former dormitories, five cabins and more than 100 acres of forested land.  The Winston Prouty Center, which operates a licensed child care program serving children ages birth to age 5 as well as community based services that provide support to families and children, occupies one floor of Thomas Hall and rents out the remaining space to local businesses and non-profits organizations. There are spaces available for long-term lease, short-term rental and for sale (see below).

The campus is open to the public from dusk until dawn. A system of trails is available for the community to enjoy. Dogs must be kept on a leash. Click here for a trail map

Following is a list of current tenants, spaces available to rent, and sections of the property that are for sale.
