Training & Funding Opportunities for Early Care & Learning Providers

The Winston Prouty Center supports family child care providers and licensed child care center teachers and directors by sponsoring a calendar of professional development training and administering the United Way Fund for Quality Early Education.

Professional Development Calendar

With a grant through Vermont Birth to Five (VB5), the Winston Prouty Center will offer a number of professional development trainings in the fall of 2017. Planned classes include:

  • Fundamentals
  • 3 Advanced Specialized Care courses
  • Emergency Preparedness
  • Touchpoints
  • Business and technology support classes
  • Understanding Sexual Behaviors of Children & Overcoming Barriers to Protecting Children from Sexual Abuse

United Way Fund for Quality Early Education

In partnership with the United Way of Windham County, Winston Prouty awards grants to early educators for professional development and program enrichment.  Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and are viewed soon after the quarterly deadline:

  • August 15 – First Quarter
  • November 15 – Second Quarter
  • February 15 – Third Quarter
  • May 15 – Fourth Quarter

Unless we are told otherwise, applications received after each deadline will be held to be considered in the next quarter.  We will strive to notify applicants of the committee’s decisions within 30 days of the quarterly deadlines.
