A Taste of the Town 2012

On May 19th, 2012 the Winston Prouty Center for Child Development hosted its 23rd Annual Benefit and Auction A Taste of the Town. The Taste is Prouty’s signature fundraising event and gala celebration.

Community is an important part of Prouty’s mission, and we rely on many people, including members of the Board of Trustees, Prouty staff and families, who volunteer their time and efforts to ensure the event’s success. The Taste was held again at the International Center on the campus of World Learning. We are very grateful to World Learning for allowing us to use such a beautiful space, with special thanks to John Benouski and his staff at Sodexo for their invaluable assistance. Ian Kelley of WTSA emceed the event and the music of Peter Siegel and friends enhanced the ambiance.

The 2012 Taste was sponsored by The Richards Group, River Valley Credit Union, TD Bank, The Trust Company of Vermont, G.S. Precision Inc, Entergy Vermont Yankee, People’s United Bank Wealth Management, Brattleboro Kiwanis Club, Brattleboro Primary Care, Brattleboro Savings and Loan, Edward Jones, Members 1st Credit Union, United Natural Foods, Inc. and Merrill Gas. Support was also given by Brattleboro Pharmacy and the Brattleboro Rotary Club. The Taste would not be possible without these sponsors and our many in-kind donors.

The following area restaurants donated delicious food: Amy’s Bakery Arts Café, Backside Café, Brattleboro Food Co-op, Chelsea Royal Diner, Chesterfield Inn, Entera Artisanal Catering, Fairway Tavern, Fireworks, Grafton Village Cheese, Jasmine’s Bakery, Joy Wah, Marina Restaurant, Mocha Joe’s, New England House, Panasian, Peter Havens, Shin La Restaurant & Sushi Bar, Sodexo at World Learning, The Tavern, Top of the Hill Grill, Vermont Country Deli and Vermont Inn Pizza.

These local florists created amazing arrangements: Linden Gardens, Taylor for Flowers and Windham Flowers. Dynamic Landscaping provided the bushes and trees that decorated the room.

We are grateful to these businesses, artists, and craftspeople who provided fabulous items for our silent and chance auctions: 99 Restaurant, Altiplano, Baker’s Hallmark, Basketville, Billings Farm & Museum, The Blue Moose, Brandywine Glassworks, Brattleboro Museum and Art Center, Burrows Specialized Sports, Burton Car Wash, Colonial Pool & Spa, Dan Healey Forest Works, ECHO Lake Aquarium & Science Center, The Essex, Faith Evans, Frazier & Son, Bridget Goodell, Grafton Village Cheese, Green Mountain Railroad, Adam Hallock, Holly King, Hugging Bear Inn & Shoppe, The Inn at Grafton, Jasmine Aesthetics, Jenna Rae, Jill Chisholm’s Ideal Weight Loss Clinic, JMB Glass (Josh & Marta Bernbaum), Kringle Candle Company, Laura Zindel Ceramics, LaValley’s Building Supply, MASS MoCA, Masteler Cleaning Service, Montshire Museum of Science, Moxie’s Closet, Scott Nelson, Newton Business, North End Butchers, Orchard View Farm (Carolyn & Ted Belden), Outer Limits Health Club, Papagallos, Heather Poor, Puzzles Plus (Karl Miller), Renaissance Fine Jewelry, Rountree Ford of Brattleboro, Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters, Shelburne Museum, Don Sherefkin, Studio 20 Hair Salon, United Natural Foods, Verde for Garden and Home, Windham Wines, Yoga Center at Solar Hill and Yellow Barn.
